Bolivia has the second place in South America with best quality
primary education, reveals the Global Competitiveness
Report 2014-2015, conducted annually by the World Economic Forum.
This annual
Report, from which the Global Competitiveness Index is extracted, evaluated a
total of 144 countries through 12 pillars, including primary and higher
education.
According to this
evaluation, Finland is the first country in the world with the best education
system with a score of 6.8, followed by Belgium, Singapore, Barbados,
Switzerland, New Zealand, Lebanon, Ireland, Malta and the Netherlands.
According to a review
by The Daily Times, in South America,
Ecuador gets the first place with 3.8 and is ranked 74 in the world in terms of
primary education, followed by Bolivia with 3.3 score, Argentina, Colombia,
Uruguay , Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru and Paraguay last.
It is undeniable
that the diagnosis Bolivia gets from this Global Report responds to the social,
economic and educational policies that the Government has implemented in recent
years.
For instance, the
bono "Juancito Pinto" as incentive to stay in school, since 2006, is one
of the measures that has had the biggest impact on primary and secondary
education, in terms of enrollment.
The indicators
show that in Bolivia 99 out of 100 children between 6 and 11 years accessed primary
education in the age range that they corresponded to or prematurely to secondary.
The provision of
education infrastructure, equipment and educational items have been one of the
factors that have contributed to improving education in accordance to the
Education Law "Siñani- Elizardo Avelino Perez" and the implementation
of the Productive Educational Community Partnership model.
